PSXE Poll Update: We Don't Need Any Uncharted Remasters

Last week, Sony hinted at the idea of delivering Remastered versions of the acclaimed Uncharted titles.

And while many support the idea, and would like to see the original game overhauled for the PlayStation 4, the majority of our readers would rather not see any remasters at all.

This according to our latest poll, and perhaps the results are due to the bad rap remasters, upgrades, and "definitive" editions have earned in 2014. One wonders if it's a bit of an overreaction, though, as there really haven't been that many such productions; they just stand out more when there isn't a lot of new software available. However, in this case, we'd have to agree that we don't necessarily need any remastered versions of Uncharted.

This week, we want to know your thoughts on the Destiny beta, which is currently running and will continue through July 29. We asked for your early impressions a few days ago; now's your chance to vote. Is it everything you wanted it to be, or is it somewhat unimpressive?

It's just much too late to remake Uncharteds, they are not new games not even part 3.

My opinion of Destiny had gone up since the alpha and it clearly better than the other online shooters that land your ass into the microtransaction store everytime you need something to survive.

However I can't see spending full price on launch.

I think remasters are good for the many Sony converters for this gen. There are many great exclusives they missed out on the PS3, and they deserve the privilege to experience these PS3 exclusives on next-gen. So there's a market for remastered collections, just because one person doesn't see a reason for them doesn't necessarily mean everyone feels the same.

I don't see a problem with remasters. Lot's of folks didn't get to play them and it is a great chance for them. I will play them again because I love them.Just think it happens with music and movies also.Albums get remastered all the time with new bonus tracks and movies get hd treatment all the time. so games is getting the same treatment also. Just my 2 cents.

Think about it from Sony's perspective and the remakes make perfect sense. A lot of PS4 owners have come from other consoles or are new to console gaming entirely. If Sony is sat on a large library of titles that they could easily update and release on the new platform, then it makes sense to do so and grab that cash.

I personally don't understand the hate to remasters either. People act like this is the age of remasters... but there's only TLoU for PS4 and the Masterchief collection for XB1.

I guess I just don't feel like 1 game constitutes some sort of negative revolution....

The thing with Uncharted (1-3) is that you can still back and enjoy the gameplay and the visuals. It's not a very old game that needs to be "remastered".

I've enjoyed Destiny Beta. I'm not sure who gave me a code from this site but thank you for that. Furthermore Destiny feels like Resistance 3 and I really like that. I like the fact that you can also run into other random players and help each other out. I'm always willing ot help others out so that's definitely a plus.

I'm all for an Uncharted remaster if they bundle them together and don't charge an arm and a leg for it. I never played the original game so playing it on my PS4 would be good.

so, more people voted they didn't need remasters than the other 3 options for selecting an individual Uncharted game combined? There seems something wrong with that.

so hypothetically if
Uncharted got 100 votes
Uncahrted 2 got 300 votes
and Uncharted 3 got 100 votes
and no remasters got 400 votes
.....then of course more people wanted remasters.
but I suppose no remasters must've trumped all?

so basically if the poll said
Who wants Uncharted Remasters 'click here'
who want no remasters 'click here'
it would be 59% Yes 41% No

.....
