Visceral On Battlefield: Hardline Delay: It's Actually A Blessing
Battlefield: Hardline was supposed to drop on October 21. Now, it won't release until "early 2015."
As you might expect, this has kicked off a firestorm of discussion and controversy. Some gamers think it's a good thing, in that EA is learning from their mistakes (remember the Battlefield 4 fiasco?). Skeptics say developer Visceral Games may not know what they're doing.
Well, speaking at this year's San Diego Comic-Con event, the developer attempted to explain the reasons behind the delay. According to GameSpot, he said it was never the original intent to push the game back, but it has "actually been a blessing." And besides, if the game is good enough, people will quickly forget the delay:
"When I think about the great games I remember, I had long relationships with them. I don't remember when they came out, who cares? If it's great enough, it'll transcend all that."
Feedback from the beta has prompted the developers to go back and rework important parts of the game. They want to make it even better and as such, they're taking a little extra time. Nothing wrong with that, right?
