August's Free Plus Titles Include Fez, Dragon's Crown, More
Time for the August lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus members.
As revealed by the video below, Plus peeps will receive six free titles - two each for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Vita - and two will launch for the first time during the coming month.
For instance, PS4 users will get the upcoming Road Not Taken, which is slated to drop on August 5. It's one of the more promising and original digital titles on the immediate horizon, as we noted in our recent preview. The other free August game will be the award-winning Fez, Phil Fish's excellent puzzle/platformer.
For the PS3, we'll get the relatively well-received FPS Crysis 3 and the open-world adventure Proteus, and Vita owners will receive Vanillaware's awesome 2D action/RPG, Dragon's Crown. Europeans already got that one so instead, they can grab LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Then there's Metrico, another unique puzzle/platformer that utilizes the science of infographics and metrics in an entertaining way. Again, check out our preview for more info.
Two of August's free games support Cross-Buy: Fez and Proteus, and while Dragon's Crown doesn't technically support that feature, Plus members will still get both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game.
