Will Advanced Warfare Steal Away Some Of Destiny's Hype?
For the past few months, we've heard a lot about Destiny.
It really has stolen the show as of late, despite the ridiculous amount of attention The Last Of Us: Remastered received. Now, however, we're mere hours from the multiplayer debut of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, so perhaps the hype will shift...
It has been Destiny this, Destiny that for weeks and weeks, but when you start talking about the multiplayer component in a new Call of Duty, the gaming world tends to go apesh**. The only reason Advanced Warfare hasn't really owned the headlines thus far is because we've only seen campaign footage thus far, and let's face it, how many day-one CoD purchasers give a crap about the narrative? It's all about the multiplayer and for the most part, always has been.
So, is it possible that this worldwide multiplayer premier could actually diminish interest in Bungie's blockbuster? Will all the FPS fans out there go, "oh, that's right, there's a new Call of Duty coming." So involved were they with the Destiny beta that they didn't really think about Advanced Warfare. But this weekend (August 11 is the date), all bets are off, and we'll see just how much of a stranglehold CoD still has on this industry.
