Rumor: Certain Third-Party Exclusives Headed To PS4
For the most part, third-party exclusives are typically timed exclusives, as the publisher doesn't want to miss out on more sales.
However, that isn't always true. Sometimes, a game just remains exclusive to a particular platform. Many figured Ryse: Son of Rome is an example of that, as we heard nothing that would indicate a release for the PlayStation 4.
But things may be changing: According to industry insider Tidux, the prevailing rumor winds say developers are talking about moving to the PS4, where the majority of next-gen gamers are right now:
"rumor from Cologne, third-party exclusive titles to #PS4 is coming. developers moving to the platform where the most people are. classic. but nothing that will be presented now, later"
He added that we wouldn't hear anything about this at Gamescom, so we'll have to wait. This comes shortly after Crytek boss Cevat Yerli said there was a good chance that Ryse 2 would come to the PS4, as they weren't very happy with Xbox One sales. As far as I'm concerned, you can keep Ryse (wasn't very good to begin with), but it's nice to hear devs siding with the PS4 early on.
Me-thinks you picked the wrong horse, Crytek. But Insomniac did, too, and that's worse. :(
