Gamescom 2014: PlayStation TV Arrives In US This October
It has been available in Japan for a while, and now it's finally headed to North America and Europe.
As announced during Sony's Gamescom briefing, PlayStation TV will debut in North America on October 14, and it will arrive in PAL territories on November 14. Those who opt to purchase the nifty little unit in Europe will also receive three free digital games, although Sony didn't release the titles. Not sure if US gamers will get the same bonus.
Previously known as Vita TV, this device can play lots of Vita games in addition to digital PS1 and PSP titles. Via Remote Play, it can be utilized to stream PS4 games from one system to another on a separate television (provided PS TV is connected). It will also support PlayStation Now, Sony's new streaming subscription service. Both the DualShock 3 and DualShock 4 are compatible with PlayStation TV, which will retail for $99 in the US and €99 in Europe.
If you're interested, you might want to consider the upcoming bundle that features a DualShock 3 controller, an 8GB memory card, a USB cable, and a copy of The LEGO Movie Videogame, which will go for $139.99.
