Dragon Age: Inquisition Will Feature Co-op Multiplayer Action
If you wanted multiplayer in the Dragon Age franchise, you've got your wish.
Developer BioWare confirmed to IGN that the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition will offer a cooperative multiplayer mode that supports up to four players.
It will be similar to the multiplayer component in Mass Effect 3 but they're saying it'll be "significantly deeper." The interesting part is that unlike a lot of RPGs where you team up, you won't need to spend a huge amount of time with the co-op multiplayer to enjoy it. BioWare is designing it so it can be enjoyed in 20-30-minute play sessions, which is good news.
We'll get three multiplayer campaigns and all of them will be ready to go at the game's launch. These campaigns will also be randomized so each session will be different. Unsurprisingly, BioWare will produce "lots of DLC" based on this multiplayer element, but it will come free of charge: "It's all free DLC for everyone," said producer Scylla Costa. And yes, you can spend real-world cash to speed things up, but Costa assures us that "nothing is behind a paywall."
Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated to arrive on November 18.
