Following DDoS Attacks, PSN Set For Maintenance Today
No, it's not another attack; it's just maintenance.
The PlayStation Network was supposed to undergo regular maintenance on Monday, but after the DDoS attacks over the weekend, that maintenance was postponed.
That's why you won't be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, or Account Management between the hours of 12:40 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. ET today. Provided you signed in at any point since August 23, you'll still be able to play games online and use various applications like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Redbox, etc. It does suck that you can't get to the Store but really, it's only for a matter of a few days.
And here's hoping more customers weren't scared away from the events over the weekend. It makes me not want to be connected ever but that's hardly a PlayStation-centric fear.
