PS4 And Vita Will Soon Support Themes

Writing themes in school kinda sucked. But digital themes are cool!

Sony has confirmed that Theme support is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Vita. It'll arrive on PS4 via the 2.0 firmware update and on Vita via the 3.30 update.

This has been a feature PlayStation fans have been waiting on for quite some time, so they were undoubtedly happy to see the feature on display during Sony's pre-TGS conference. The unveiling included classic mascots from the PlayStation stable, and while Sony didn't give us too many details, we're assuming this feature will continue to grow and expand over time.

The more customizable our electronic equipment, the better!

Agreed. Wonder if there are any plans for changing layout. Not sure how I feel about the lack of folders. Thinking of my ps3,it takes quite a while to scroll through all of my digital games. Can't imagine how hard it'll be to jump from my game collection and find my netflix/etc. Seems inevitable, doesn't it? Not necessarily a feature that I need today, but in another 6 month, it'll be sheer chaos.

I enjoyed having folders (and even subfolders) arranging my categories. Might have been easier if Netflix and such (apps in general) were arranged in the top bar..?

Anyways, themes! I'm happy to see it happening. Miss my old ps3 haunted mansion one.

Pretty sure they said that folders are coming.

Also didn't we see pics recently of a demo PS4 running with updated menu that included folders? Wasn't that during Gamescom or something?

Hahaha. I love it how when you press up to go to the sub-menu it switches the background to the roof of the house.

That's cool.

Yeah, I thought that was a neat touch. Have an up-vote to counter the down-vote! ;)

Awesome! And it looks like there is some great dynamic theme potential on the PS4.

But I'm not interested in Vita themes as I've already found and made some pretty great backgrounds that I've put on there. No need for anything more than that.

Like Neno says I think we REALLY need folders before anything else my bar is just getting longer and longer.
Also I really hope the PS3 themes work on the PS4.

Highly doubt they would, different systems, different architecture.

Yeah, what Akuma said. And I don't think a lot of those themes would suit the PS4 UI very well.

Good. I've been using themes like The Evil Within on my ps3 when I plan on playing it on the ps4. It just doesn't feel right.

A nice addition, why not? Would love to have a theme with the title screen from TloU.

This was actually one of the things that I'd missed so this is great news. The only thing that could make it better is if they update old ones for PS4 and allow cross-buy!

nice to see themes back, just one of the 8766 things the ps3 could do which ps4 cant!
but that said, $ony seriously need to get their priorities straight!
stop wasting time on this, and share factory, and all the other crapola, and actually focus on something important for a change!
what ever happened to the pause and resume feature utilizing the systems standby function?
you know that feature that lets you pause the game, turn the system onto standby, then resume where you left off the next day?
you know that feature which was announced at the system reveal, to be available at launch, launch came and its not available, and we have not heard boo since!
you know that feature that the competition had SINCE LAUNCH!
4 the gam3rs my a$$, more like for the soccer moms!
ie facebook generation.
