The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Will Excel In Regards To Longevity

If you're looking for very long gaming experiences, developer CD Projekt has you covered.

They plan to bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the PlayStation 4, PC and presumably the new Xbox, and they're already talking about a massive role-playing adventure.

A few new details have emerged thanks to German magazine GameStar (as cited at Joystiq) and above all else, it seems the new title will last about 50 hours. And furthermore, "the world can reach a total of 36 different states, depending on the player's choices." Those choices will also result in one of three possible endings. Lastly, CD Projekt says they'd like to implement a feature that would allow us import save files from previous Witcher games.

The only problem is that they face obstacles in doing this with new hardware and in fact, it might not be possible at all. But they'd still like to do it. Expect to hear more about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as the year goes on.

Yes this is a significant RPG release, it's really great this series is coming for our console.

But I'm thinking, the savegame import would only be an issue if they don't release the earlier Witchers on PS4 too. So that comment kinda indirectly confirms that there are no plans to put the earlier games over to the new consoles.

I think the Witcher has to be my favourite RPG series in a while.

It did what Dragon age tried to do but did it so so much better.

Everything feels like it has purpose in this game. I really love the way they crafted everything, from the quests, to the choice and consequences, to the amazing graphics man this series just impressed the hell out of me.

I'm so super stoked more and more people are able to play this with it being ported to consoles :)
