Destiny Update 1.01 Detailed And It's Surprisingly Hefty

C'mon, you didn't really think Destiny would launch without a patch, did you?

As detailed at Bungie's website, update 1.01 will be ready to go on launch day. It's actually a pretty hefty update.

This includes the chance to earn Crucible Marks more rapidly (three for wins and two for losses, as opposed to two and one), the ability to claim bounties sooner (Level 4 rather than Level 6), and agility will have a bigger impact on your overall speed. Bungie is quick to remind us that this won't be the last update, as the team will be working "to constantly improve the live game." In fact, more patches are already in the works even as we speak.

Click the link above for a full list of upgrades granted by patch 1.01. Just out of curiosity, when's the last time anyone started a game and didn't download an update immediately? I honestly can't remember the last time that happened.

So now there's no reason to use Assault Rifles.

Wonderful...

Assault riles there are 3. Auto, Pulse, and Scout. That's how it was in the alpha and beta test.

No, look at the link again.

Assault rifles = fully automatic

Pulse rifles = semi-automatic

Scout rifles = single shot

its expected. My only concern is that the servers will hold while millions try and log into it all at once. Would hate for the news outlets to be stuffed with Destiny breaking all day tomorrow.

I'm a little surprised that a lot of that balancing stuff isn't done on the server side like Killzone:SF and Titanfall did. I thought that was increasingly more common nowadays.

I just downloaded what looked like 1.02. Maybe I'm wrong though. Or they have already released an update to their update.
