FFXV Demo Coming Packaged With Final Fantasy Type-0 HD

If you saw that Final Fantasy XV trailer and got all excited, we've got more good news.

According to Game Informer and later confirmed by Square Enix, a playable demo of FFXV will be packaged with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, scheduled to launch in North America in March 2015.

The demo will be called "Episode Duscae" and it'll feature "some opening sections" of the anticipated adventure. It's important to note that parts of it will be altered to fit the shorter format, so it's not exactly what you'll see in the final product. Those who grab the spin-off, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, will receive a voucher for the demo, and we assume it'll be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

If they actually made a role-playing game, I'll be interested. If not...not.

Blah, I miss the time when demo discs were included. How much you want to bet the demo isn't even playable on the day Type-0 is released?

They removed Nomura from the project, I'm avoiding anything Final Fantasy now. They have lost the lead programmer, designer who both quit, and they lost a producer and now they fire Nomura from the game.

No no no no no no no.

Eh, the game was doomed from the start.

He removed himself because XV is nearly finished. It makes sense for him to move onto KH3. If he hadn't you'd be complaining that KH3 is going to take forever.

I'm all for hating on the production of this game but this is the one thing that's happened that makes absolute sense and the fact that you're screaming like a child about it is ridiculous.

I dont think its doomed. Nomura has been working on it the whole time, and he makes good games. I know you guys like your games turn based but the Kingdom hearts battle system was pretty good as far as AJRPGs go, and this looks like a nice evolution of that system.

I'm skeptical like you all, but I am optimistic because Nomura tends to make good stuff.

I'll get Type O probably, not for the demo but because I like school-based action entertainment.

Just gotta keep the faith that XVI will be a throwback.

can't say either title looks all that great.
While I always enjoy Final Fantasy and it's stylishness it seems to me FFXV looks too grey, drab and ordinary, for the series. The storytelling also looks way behind the times... for the games that try to tell meaningful stories anyway.

The Japanese folks are a little leery that the world looks too much like the real world, whereas they tend to prefer colorful imaginary worlds.

I followed Type 0 after it was first announced almost certain it would launch in the US either on PSP or PS3, it didn't =S. But it will likely be the best Final Fantasy game we have had in a while.

It definitely leans on the darker and grittier side of things.

See, S-E is just trying to capitalise on FF's perceived popularity by annualising the series, as Ubisoft and Activision have done. We had LR:FFXIII this year, Type-0 HD next year, FFXV in 2016, and then there will probably be a break for KH3 in 2017 as it's kind of a Final Fantasy spin-off, and then they'll either do FFXV-2 or XVI in 2018. It's crazy.

Anyway, I'm interested in both these games. I'll have to get a PS4 first, but they're on the list. :)

@ben dutka: oh come on, give FFXV a chance. saying that it was doomed from the start is rather unfair. Let's just wait for the game to be released before we judged it. I'm a big FF fan and I gotta admit that FFXIII is rather not so good FF game for me. But I'm really hoping that FFXV will be a different FF game. Here's hoping that FFXV will make us say "Wow, now this is a real FF game". ^_^

I have a huge poster of Lightning in my "gaming" room and I'm a known XIII basher. I love the character, dislike the game.

Hmmm, how odd. When it comes to XIII bashing I often hear people moaning about Lighting, whether it be her being a recycled Cloud (VII) or being to emo etc. I personally liked Lightning from the first game but anything story/character related tanks from when it became sequelised. I mean the whole point of Lightning's story in XIII-1 was to overcoming her conflict and becoming humane. I became so detached from her when she became a goddess and in even more so in Lightning Returns.

I suppose ben forgot that he wrote this: http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/7638.html

A quote from the article:
"And so, this statement is just for you, Square-Enix: you've got one more chance. One. I will remain excited and enthusiastic for Final Fantasy Versus XIII all the way up until its release; I will hold out hope and sit down to play it with high expectations."

Unless he made another article titled: Hey Square Enix: I've Changed My Mind!

Yeah, I mean, nobody ever changes his or her mind leading up to a release. Especially during an 8-YEAR span.

That just never happens.

@vivi_Gamer: well if i remembered correctly, i chose Lightning as my profile pic here in psxextreme because that was the time that I was so hyped with FFXIII before it came out and I'm excited of what kind of a heroine will Lightning be on the game. And yeah, both world and limited are right, I've enjoyed the character Lightning more than the game itself.

@Ben Dutka: If FFXV comes out and it turned out to be an epic game and that it becomes worthy again to be called a real FF game, I'll get back to you and tell you that 8 year span is WORTH the wait. ^_^
