PS4 Doubles Up Xbox One But Will We See A Momentum Shift?
According to those VGChartz stats, the PlayStation 4 has outsold the Xbox One two-to-one so far this generation.
Microsoft's Japanese launch was a joke (no big shock there) and it appears the PS4 has an insurmountable lead in Europe. That's not a huge surprise, either, as the PS3 routinely topped the Xbox 360 in European territories. The fact that the Xbox One can't even win on its home soil - after a generation where the 360 typically trounced the PS3 in North America - is just plain huge. As such, the PS4 has sold over 10 million while the Xbox One has only moved around 5 million.
Okay, so now that Sony has this big lead, do you think they'll ever relinquish it? The holiday season could mark a turning point, although I still fail to see why anyone would even want an Xbox One at this point. Exclusive software is always the biggest draw for me and as usual, in looking at 2015, the exclusives I want are on PlayStation. I wish we were getting Sunset Overdrive, though, and that game could really help Xbox One sales. It's a new IP but Insomniac is a fantastic developer...
Anyway, I don't believe we'll see a momentum shift, although some gamers and analysts disagree. What do you say?
