Uncharted 4 Close-Up Show's Drake's Sadder, Vulnerable Side

We still need to see some gameplay but in the meantime, we'll take this new image.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End lead game designer Kurt Margenau shared a new image of protagonist Nathan Drake on Twitter, saying: "Drake looking next-gen as f*ck."

He snapped the shot at Naughty Dog's 30th anniversary art exhibit, which is currently on display at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California. This exhibit debuted on September 27 and it'll run through October 12, so if you're in the area, feel fee to drop by. The image in question is amazing, but we don't know if we're looking at an in-game shot or a cinematic picture.

Chances are, it's the latter, but even so, it's pretty amazing. And Nate looks more gaunt and perhaps a little sadder than usual. Well, Naughty Dog is on the record saying this new adventure will be "more personal" for Nate, so...

To me, he looks as though he's aged about ten years since Drake's Deception. It'll be interesting to find out whether that actually is the case. Either way, it's an amazingly well detailed picture, and Uncharted 4 will definitely be setting a graphical benchmark. I just hope that Naughty Dog matches the graphical leap with a similarly large gameplay leap and ramp up the amount of options available to the player. How, I don't know, but I want to see it happen.

Folks there is a very good chance this game could blow the socks off of what we've seen so far for so called next gen games.

I'm wondering if critics will find some flaws in it or if we're in for another Uncharted 2 perfection storm.

I tried to see a young Liam, but couldn't.

Now if you cover up his left eye (on the right)... Spitting image of Charlie Sheen. Lol.

Let's hope the gameplay is next gen because Uncharted 3 was undeniably weak in that department.

I guess I'm a sucker for unique games. Time after time, people shit on UC3 for its duration, gameplay, or both. I enjoyed it. It was different and refreshing. Didn't take a lot to build up a whole lot momentum and the story was great! I'd say it was a breath of fresh air. Not like the 2nd or 1st installments. Will the next game follow the same path? I doubt it. Naughty Dog will most likely increase gameplay duration, but I think they'll sneak in quite a few cutscenes.

That was one part of Max Payne 3 that I wish more games would incorporate; Loading screens hidden behind cutscenes.

It's all good. Now, if it were only April 2015 already... Has more to do with my hatred for recent Chicago winters. ;)

11 months after announcement, and were STILL yet to see any gameplay, and worse yet practically ANY details on the game........ unbelievable!
maybe $ony should be more concerned about pushing out new titles, and stop with the milking old released games by giving them "HD" remakes!
