Is Destiny The PS4's Top System-Selling Game So Far?
Thus far, exclusives haven't really been the PlayStation 4's bread-and-butter.
That could change in due time, of course. Next year's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Bloodborne, and The Order: 1886 will go a long way to beefing up the first-party exclusive side of Sony's new console.
But for now, we've really only got a small handful, including fun games like inFamous: Second Son. Driveclub is on the way as well, but I doubt its arrival will have a significant impact on PS4 sales. This is why the recent release of Destiny could prove to be the biggest boon yet; it's a third-party multiplatform title, but it's absolutely gigantic. On top of which, Sony's successful marketing campaign throughout 2014 told gamers everywhere that it's a good idea to pick up the PS4 version. Timed exclusive content always helps.
One could argue that currently, there's no one giant exclusive title that helps drive PS4 sales. On the other hand, one could easily argue that Destiny has amped up consumer interest in Sony's next-gen system. Here's the big question, though: Will continued interest in Destiny - down the road, over the years - result in a continued edge for the PS4...?
That remains to be seen.
