PS Plus Subscriptions Hit 7.9 Million
Yeah, it helps when it's basically a requirement for most avid gamers.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Sony is closing in on 8 million PlayStation Plus subscribers; the total currently sits at 7.9 million.
Sony didn't say how many of these subscribers are PlayStation 4 owners (there are 13.5 million PS4s out there, if you're wondering), but we're guessing it's a fair chunk. If you want to play games online with Sony's new console, you have to be a Plus member. This is different than last generation, when the PlayStation Network was free for all. However, Sony said it just wasn't feasible to continue that business model into the new generation and frankly, I don't doubt it.
Me, I've never regretted being a Plus member. The perks are very much worth it, as far as I'm concerned.
