Sony Issues New PS4 Update That Fixes The "Rest Bug"

When the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 firmware update 2.00 released last week, it brought with it a bunch of great features.

Themes, customizable music lists and Share Play were among those features but unfortunately, the update also caused a well-documented "Rest Bug."

This bug basically freezes the console after entering Rest Mode. Thankfully, though, Sony has issued a fix-it update, as Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida posted on Twitter:

"System software 2.01 is out for PS4, which fixes the Rest Mode issue. This is not a forced update. #PS4share"

As it isn't mandatory, there's no reason to download it if you haven't experienced that Rest Bug. I have, though, so I have to see if this fixes the issue. It has also caused problems with some of the games I'm currently reviewing, so here's hoping the new update alleviates that stress as well.

I downloaded and installed it. It was something like 240+ MB too. These updates are monster sized.

If you go to the playstation store it's under the Games category. I found the themes way at the bottom of the list under the "Extras" category. So basically Games then scroll all the way down to Extras. It's an odd place to put them really.

Was wondering what the heck was wrong my PS4 the other day when it didn't reboot. Will take care of this tonight.
