The Expanded Unreal Engine 4 Elemental Tech Demo For PS4

The Unreal Engine 4 is going to be a hot item in the new generation, and we've already seen Epic show off the Infiltrator demo at last week's Game Developer's Conference.

But wait, there's more. The developer also brought an extended version of the PS4 demo entitled "Elemental," which shows more of UE4. Part of this was originally shown during the PlayStation Meeting in February when Sony announced their new console.

Remember, this is running in real-time on the PS4 and you have to admit, that isn't too shabby. Many might blame the Unreal Engine for holding back the power of the PS3 this generation, while others believe an engine is only as good as the designers behind it. Either way, there's almost no doubt that Unreal Engine 4 will be used quite often in game production during the upcoming generation. So you should probably get used to it; you might even like it.

The only interest I have is in what Irrational games will be able to do with it in more Bioshocks :) So it looks good.

I require a picture of Phillip J Fry from Futurama to do the meme "not sure if" demo is skippy or if video compression isn't doing it any favors. Either way it looks good. Seems like Sony is recuperating from the PS3s' 3rd party devs incompetence. Anyone else here thinks Microsoft is starting to feel a disturbance in the force?. Really hope Sony keeps its momentum going with the 3rd party devs praising its easy as pie architecture.

eh, im still more impressed by the samaritan demo they showed a while ago.
or even squares luminous engine.
this relies far too much on particle effects, it lacks intricate detail and the lighting effects the samaritan demo offered.
not to mention the texture detail!

This version looks terrible compared to the one-year old version of almost the same demo, but looked far more realistic, much better (and more) fire/snow effects, and it just seems like they basically cut out all the scenes where there's a lot going on at the same time from the original demo...

Take a look at this for comparison:
