Our Most Anticipated Unannounced Sequel: Dishonored 2
A few years back, a game called Dishonored took the gaming world by storm.
Not only did it blow me (and many other critics) away but it also took home our coveted Game of the Year Award for 2012. There's no doubt that tons of loyal fans have been anxiously awaiting news of a follow-up effort but thus far, no word from either developer Arkane Studios or publisher Bethesda.
Rumor has it that we might learn of a sequel in 2015 and if so, it would immediately become our most anticipated sequel of the new generation. Provided the game retains the same basic structure and foundation, it should be another clear-cut winner. We're just hoping the developers don't fall prey to the overriding themes and trends in the industry today; in other words, despite every major developer embracing the open-world sandbox structure, that's something we don't need in Dishonored 2.
It was nice to have some freedom in each of the regions but making it a true open-world game would wreck it, in my estimation. I'd also like to see an even better narrative and perhaps a brighter, more vivacious environment. The city in the original was continually oppressive throughout; great for atmosphere but it did start to wear on me after a while. Anyone else out there really want this sequel? And if so, what changes or improvements would you like to see?
