PlayStation Vue Debuts In First Quarter 2015 For PS4, PS3

Yesterday, we learned about the monthly subscription plan for PlayStation Now.

Today, Sony has announced that PlayStation Vue, the cloud-based TV service that will deliver as many as 75 TV and content channels to game consoles, is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2015.

Sony chief executive Kaz Hirai confirmed the release window during his CES keynote speech on Monday, and he said the service would debut on PS4 and PS3. Unfortunately, we don't yet have a pricing model, although we do know that we'll get on-demand content from six major sources: CBS, Fox, NBC Universal, Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks, and Viacom.

This might be worth getting, especially if you really can't stand the look of your cable bill anymore.

I subscribe to amazon prime, Hulu, and netflix. I don't have cable at all. My bill for those 3 services is still 70% less than my cable bill was. So if the price is on par with these services and I get something I normally wouldnt, for instance amazon prime has shows from TNT where the others dont, then I'd invest.

I dont see why Sony are going down this road. They should just keep the focus on the games which to me still seems to be lacking so far...hoping Bloodborne ends the lull.

They also make tv's. So having a televisions subscription to watch shows on your TV kind of makes sense.

That would make sense if it were Sony Vue, Bigrailer. But it's definitely under the PlayStation division.

Sony still has studios working on games and I'm pretty sure that the ppl working on this have nothing to do with Sonys game division... So what's the harm in making more and diffrent services available to their playstation systems... This will also be good for Sony to make extra money especially with how often ppl with playstation are on Netflix

Kinda contradicts Playstation being for the gamers motto. I'm far more interested in this service than ps now. That just doesn't add up to a good deal... At all.

This is the first I've heard of this. I still have cable just to watch live sports. Otherwise it's completely useless with all the ondemand stuff now.

Even if this costs $10 a month it would still cost me $80 for my internet service with unlimited bandwidth to be able to stream the shows, so how is that cheaper than cable?
