Resident Evil HD Remake Available For Purchase And Pre-Load

If you just have to ensure that you're playing this game the second it becomes available, get moving.

Capcom's high-definition remake of the survival/horror classic, Resident Evil, is now available to purchase and pre-load on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title will arrive on January 20 and if you pre-load, it'll start downloading the instant the clock switches over to midnight (or at least, that's the theory). Me, I've never really needed to play a game that badly, but whatever.

The latest remake is an updated version of 2002's Resident Evil REmake for GameCube, and that was a remake of the original PS1 title. So yeah, this new one is like a remake of a remake, or a remaster of a remake, or...well, anyway, it'll have 1080p visuals and it supports Cross Buy on PS4 and PS3.

This for me is the master of all remakes. It kept the soul of the original and improved on everything.
This and Tomb Raider Anniversary were awesome remakes.

This is one remake of a remake I won't mind buying again. One of the best games I've ever played.

Which is shocking in retrospect when you look at where Resident Evil is in 2015.

Okay, can someone explain to me what this is exactly. I know that sounds dumb, but what I mean is, is this a 1:1 remake with a graphical overhaul where everything else is the same i.e. control scheme, "tank controls", all that jazz? Thanks guys, haven't been paying attention to this and might grab it as I played about half an hour of RE1 total.

Yes it's the tank controls from RE1 way back in the day with a huge graphical overhaul. This original released on Gamecube, but now we are getting an HD upgrade to a remake. I've already purchased and awaiting pre-load.

It's just an HD update of the GameCube version. Everything will remain exactly the same as the GC as far as gameplay goes.

"Thank control" will be optional, there will be a digital control option that moves the character in the direction you move your analog stick.

Will it be 1080P on PS3 as well? That would be sweet!
