Codemasters May Lose Up To 30 Jobs
They make great racing games but that doesn't mean they're immune to staff reduction.
As Eurogamer reports, DiRT developer Codemasters may lose around 30 jobs.
The staff is looking to ease its budget by weeding out redundancy, and roles that might be axed are in the design and art sections. Right now, the targeted team is in the progress of creating DiRT 4, while the F1 team appears to be safe for the time being. Unfortunately, all this could result in a delay for the upcoming DiRT entry. Here's a statement from the company:
"As Codemasters continues its program of strategic realignment in line with market changes, the company has reviewed its current structures to focus on areas of increased importance and decrease resources in areas where work requirements have been reduced.
As a result of this review, a small number of roles have been proposed as being at risk of redundancy. Those in potentially affected roles are now involved in a consultation period to discuss the proposal. The proposal does not affect the ongoing production of titles in development and no projects have been cancelled as a result of the proposal."
