Hardline Delay A Result Of Devs Taking Feedback To Heart
Battlefield: Hardline is just one of many games that got delayed last year.
And in the case of this particular anticipated shooter, those in charge say the delay was definitely "the right call."
Visceral Games Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis said as much in an open letter to the Battlefield community. The new effort is now set for March 5 after initially being confirmed for Fall 2014, but Papoutsis promises that gamers will benefit:
"Earlier last year, we had assumed that by now the game would have launched and we’d be spending our days and nights online playing with all of you. But we got some pretty pointed feedback after our early beta that you wanted more. And we listened."
This extra time will let the developer make plenty of improvements, which will result in "the complete first-person shooter experience we set out to deliver." He also confirmed a second beta, which will launch before the game officially arrives on all major platforms:
"There will be another MP beta for all platforms that will showcase a small slice of the game and will also help us continue to test stability as we prepare for launch. Hopefully you’ll see in March that we’ve not only been listening, but we’ve been busy acting on what we’re hearing."
Well, just get it right. Let's not have another launch disaster like Battlefield 4.
