Okay, These Madden Super Bowl Sims Are Getting Creepy

Hey, did anyone compare reality versus the annual Madden Super Bowl simulation?

Last week, EA ran the simulation of Super Bowl XLIX and the results were pretty dramatic:

With almost no time left, Tom Brady hooks up with Julian Edelman, who scores as time expires to give the New England Patriots a 28-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Okay...in reality, Tom Brady hooked up with Julian Edelman with just over two minutes remaining in the game, which led the Pats to a - wait for it - 28-24 win. Okay, sure, there was a crazy juggling catch and a goal-line interception after that but I'm not even sure that kind of craziness can happen in a video game.

This is the ninth time in the last eleven years the latest Madden game entry has correctly predicted the winner of the big game. The scores aren't always correct, of course, and reality vs. simulation is almost never as close as tonight's wacky outcome. Even so, I'd say it's pretty damn impressive. Had we run these simulations back in the '90s, I'm fairly certain the comparisons would've been freakin' hilarious.

Not that I want to start a betting craze based on a video game simulation, or anything.

I was getting some food at the bar attached to the snowboard hill I was at tonight and EVERYONE lost their mind when that guy caught the ball after it bounced off his hands, then inner thigh, then back to his hands as he fell.

Was a crazy game and I don't really care for watching these things all that much.

It is spooky that Madden has been correct that much, conspiracy!!!

That's pretty weird, but go patriots!! what a win! and that last play was the worst play called in the history of sports, you have one of, if not the best, running backs in the league and you have 3 downs for him to get 1 yard and you decide to pass it...what on earth was he thinking

Seriously, there's no logical, sane explanation for that idiotic decision.

yea. It wasn't a good call at all. Even if you rationalize that they didn't want to run the clock down with a failed run.

It should've happened like this..

2nd down: run
if fail then time out. (their last one)
3rd down: pass
if fail, clock stops anyway
4th down: run or pass depending on where they're at.

While Seattle has proven great and successful in their clutch calls they didn't need to make one of those just yet. They had 3 downs and "the beast" Lynch would likely have taken them to victory if they just played it safe...

Getting the right winner is one thing, but the same score?
Scary indeed.

Really happy that the Patriots won but their linesmen were awful, getting run over by the Seahawks.
At the end of the 3rd quarter I thought the score margin would widen more, but I forgot about Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T.
And also Malcolm Butler, what a catch from him at the end.

It ... It was like excitement joy and happiness shattered by horror at the one yard line.

Great game overall though. Way more entertaining than last year's game.

And since when did mobile games steal the advertising Spotlight?
I feel like a console gaming minority now....
