Treyarch Handling This Year's Call Of Duty
We all knew a fresh Call of Duty was coming this year. A new one comes every year.
But now we've got a few baseline details to go along with it: Activision has announced that the new CoD will be an "exciting new game" from Black Ops developer Treyarch.
The publisher wouldn't confirm that the new project is Black Ops 3; it's hard to predict at this point. Don't forget that Sledgehammer Games delivered a new entry in the series - Advanced Warfare - last year and it turned out to be quite successful. Also, bear in mind that this is part of Activision's new three-year development plan for each new CoD; Treyarch's last game was 2012's Black Ops 2 so they'll have three full years for the new effort.
Oh, and Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg also confirmed that the vaunted franchise in question has passed $1 billion in sales. So why stop now?
