Sony To Unveil PS4 Design At Private Event Before E3?
Most are assuming Sony will unveil the actual PlayStation 4 console at E3 in June.
But recent evidence indicates that the company might reveal the new console's design a little earlier. This according to Tech Hunter, as reports are suggesting Sony will show off the PS4 in May. Maybe in less than a month...?
That might not be too shocking, as it's rumored that Microsoft will announce the new Xbox some time very soon at a private event. Speaking of a private event, that may be how Sony reveals the PS4's aesthetic appeal; i.e., at a private event of some kind. Does that mean the public still won't get to see it until E3? Or will there be plenty of leaked photos and screens from that "private" little party? As for what the PS4 will actually look like, we can only guess, but Sony Worldwide Studios vice president Michael Denny said:
"I’m not sure it’s instructive for me to start trying to describe or talk about what I’ve seen or haven’t seen in terms of the actual look of the box. But yeah, you know it’s going to be another fantastic design and we can’t wait to reveal it."
Responding to criticism for not actually showing the PS4 console during its announcement event in February, Sony has said "it's just a box" and that's not what's critically important. We agree with that, but if Microsoft does indeed announce their new console soon, it would make sense for Sony to attempt to reattain some lost hype and momentum by unveiling the PS4's design. The timing might be just right.
