Arkham Knight Delayed Again, But Only For A Few Weeks

Another delay, but at least it's still in June.

The highly anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight won't make it's previously scheduled June 2 launch date. It will now release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 23.

Developer Rocksteady wants a bit more time to prepare the "epic conclusion" to this trilogy and as game director Sefton Hill said in an official statement:

"We're a developer that hates to make any compromises, so we are sorry to say this means it's going to be just a little big longer until you can play the epic conclusion to the Arkham trilogy."

On the plus side, the developer released a new gameplay trailer called Officer Down (see it below). The action was captured on PlayStation 4 and it looks pretty damn amazing. Oh, and don't forget that this gives you more time to play and complete The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a gigantic game that releases on May 19.

In other news, there's a good chance Batman: Arkham Duo Remastered will come to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Wait... What do they mean end to a trilogy?

Arkham asylum
Arkham city
Arkham origins

Now arkham knight. What am I missing?

I think they might be ignoring Origins because they didn't make it. ;)

Yeah,
Origins was not a Rocksteady game. So, mark that one off your list and you have the Rocksteady trilogy.

If waiting 3 extra weeks means a better performance without the day one patches then i am all for it. The game is looking very impressive.

Agreed. A few extra weeks isn't going to kill anyone.

Ever seen a game that didn't require day one patches?

It doesn't mean it won't definitely have a day one patch. It still could.

Just hope this is the last delay. Last game that delayed for a couple of weeks was project cars and that ended up being a couple of months.

Definitely works for me. I was planning on not even touching 'Wild Hunt' until after I completed 'Arkham Knight', because I don't want to rush thru the former and I don't want to wait to play the latter. But now I have a month to spend with Geralt, which is almost as long as it took me to complete 'Inquisition.'
