Sigh Of Relief: New Deus Ex's Boss Fights Will Be Ghostable

It was the only significant drawback in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The boss fights got a lot of flak for not allowing stealth-oriented players to succeed. It didn't help that these boss fights were actually developed out-of-studio, which made them feel jarring and decidedly out-of-sync with the rest of the game.

Therefore, it's a big question among series fans: Will we have to deal with the same problems in the recently announced Deus Ex: Mankind Divided? Well, thankfully, the answer appears to be "no." Game Director Jean-François Dugas held a Twitter Q&A last week, and answered the question, "would the game be ghostable?" In other words, could you beat the game - including boss fights - without ever being seen. Dugas' answer:

As always and even on boss side, finally! “@DuBrowny: @Jeffachoo Will Mankind Divided by ghostable?"”

Dugas also confirmed the return of conversation boss battles, so Mankind Divided is quickly shaping up to be a fantastic title. Really, if they got the boss encounters sorted out and the rest of the game is as awesome as Human Revolution, this is a guaranteed masterpiece. Yeah, I said it.

I still remember fighting the big guy and being so confused. My silenced pistol, and dart sniper vs a Give Me Deus Ex difficulty boss who was constantly shooting at me... It was a tough fight. I'm glad they know not to do that non-sense anymore. This games going to be freaking fantastic.

Not too surprising actually. I believe they did say back then that they'll not outsource the bosses again.

I'm just SO ready for a new Jensen adventure!

Good move, I'm glad they listened to people's complaints about the bosses in HR.
