Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China Has A Great Launch Trailer

Maybe this is the refreshing Assassin's Creed entry we need.

Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for the new 2.5D side-scrolling adventure, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, which releases today, April 21, for PlayStation 4 and PC. The Xbox One version will be available tomorrow.

This minute-and-a-half video shows off the game's heroine, Shao Jun, who was first introduced in the "Assassin's Creed Embers" short. Jun has all sorts of goodies, including a secret shoe blade (like the franchise's classic hidden blade on the wrist) and rope darts. Jun trained under Ezio Auditore (Assassin's Creed II) and is out to avenge her fallen Assassin comrades.

This game is free if you picked up the Assassin's Creed Unity DLC pass (before it disappeared); otherwise, it'll cost you $10. Two more Chronicles titles are coming our way; one is set in Russia and in the other, we'll visit India.

We should call it Assassin’s Greed now, ubisoft is so greedy and will milking the cash cow until it's dry...

Another woman lead as a franchise B-game role.

...is this also a cell phone game or something?

Black Flag rekindled what small interest i had left for this ridiculously drawn out franchise. It's time for Ubisoft to get over it, move on and start working on some new IP's. We've had what, more than ten games now and the series seems to be getting worse the further it drags on. After the disaster that was AC Unity, surely these devs should have learn their lesson by now?

I just started AC Unity. That's left me with the benefit of not trying until post-6 gig update with fixes. As a result, I've not had the misfortune of having to deal with the huge number of bugs most of you had to deal with.

As a result, I've been thoroughly enjoying my time in AC:Unity. Loving the multiplayer co-op, the leveling up features, the investigation side quests, and everything else. I also like how missions let you know of multiple ways to approach and kill your target. Now that the glitches are gone, this is a truly solid entry, imo.

So I say, if games can release without the bugs and with the quality seen in the post-fix version of the game, keep 'em coming! No reason to be against a good game.

I enjoyed AC Unity. I don't see how someone could play it and not be amazed by its next-gen prowess. I think it's better than its rep but it has some quirkiness I hope they address more seriously for this year's offering.

i want them to do a follow up on Black Flag. That's easily my favorite from the series.

How much better is the PS4 version? I played Black Flag on PS3. I agree. It was a ton of fun. I didn't think it would be, but super glad to have been wrong.

I had a little touch of the feels for me, there were 2 sailor songs in it that my grandfather used to sing. Of course, he also knew tons of traditional maritime songs, so perhaps it's not all that surprising. (Some slight variations in their versions, but still the same songs)

The one he sang a whole bunch was the Spanish Ladies one, except instead of singing "Farewell and Adieu to you, Spanish Ladies" it was "Farewell and Adieu, to you young maids of Breton." And instead of "We'll rant and we'll roar like true British Sailors" it was "We'll rant and we'll road like true Nova Scotians".

I'm sure a lot of those songs were adopted by different nationalities that changed it up to suit them better.

Having not played AC Black Flag on PS3 I can't really say how they compare but I can say it was the smoothest playing, sharpest looking game from the series console side on PS4.
other than a weird hiccup or two during one of the initial cutscenes the whole thing felt solid.

If there's one AC game I could see myself going back to, to take a completionist's route, it would be that one.
