Huge Black Ops III Leak Reveals Campign, Multiplayer Details

Who needs an official unveiling when all the information leaks early?

Well, we don't have all the information, of course, but a bunch of details have just hit the Internet thanks to Reddit user CharlieIntel. You won't be surprised to learn that the anticipated title should land in November.

There are all sorts of juicy tidbits: For instance, did you know the campaign will supposedly support co-op for up to four players online? Sure, it's the only way to get anyone to play the campaign, right? And according to the press materials in question, the campaign aims to provide players with "cinematic, arena-style play," which isn't too surprising." Oh, and all characters in the campaign will be fully customizable this time (loadouts, outfits, etc.).

Yes, the world of multiplayer will continue to bleed into the campaign until we won't be able to tell them apart. But that's the future of the shooter, obviously. As for multiplayer, the game will boast a "new momentum-based chain-movement system," along with new controls that include "jumps, slides, and mantling abilities in a multitude of combinations."

Lastly, the leaked materials tell us the game will feature a Zombie Mode, which is described as a "full-game experience with its own distinct storyline." Heck, it'll even have a full experience-based progression system! Sounds like Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be the ultimate FPS...would you agree, or do we need some gameplay footage? We need some footage, I think.

Sounds like another solid CoD for this year. I really like the news about 4-player campaign co-op. I hope for real large scale battles.

btw. Surprisingly 27% of the people who started playing CoD AW on their PS4 finished it's campaign (stateside), noted from the PSN trophy percentage posted online. Whereas TLoU Remastered currently holds a 31% completion average as a point of comparison. It really is false to assume that people aren't interested in playing CoD for it's single player offering (at least on PS4), because 27% of several million gamers is still A LOT of people.

i liked having coop in the campaign in world at war, aside from zombies that was best thing in that game, not to say the other cods and stories weren't good but i'm glad they're finally bringing it back!

I never said people wouldn't play the campaign. I said they wouldn't BUY the game for the campaign. And none of them do.

Pretty sure it's exactly the opposite with The Last Of Us.

"Sure, it's the only way to get anyone to play the campaign, right?"

actually right above in that big block of text this quote is what you said Ben. You said nothing about buying anything even though you used all CAPS to tell me you did.

I was talking about my other article. And yes, of COURSE the inclusion of four-player co-op is to get more people to play the campaign. As the overwhelming majority of players spend 99.9 percent of their CoD time playing with others, offering the chance to play with others in the campaign only makes sense.

lol okay... it's alright to lay pride down every so often and admit a mistake from time to time big guy. you clearly jumped at me stating you never said something, even though you just did, with me pasting the quote for you to see your own words... from THIS article.

And now rather than addressing the obvious you're following up by dragging in another article you apparently wrote to some how justify your mistake to me ....so, so stubborn at times you are ;)

I agree Temjin,
Ben, I buy COD every year to play the SP campaign and then I hand over the game to my son who plays MP. I also loved W@W for allowing co-op in the campaign but cannot stand playing online MP. Playing through a campaign with friends is not the same as playing online with a bunch of foul mouthed adolescents. Sorry Ben but you are way off and continue to attack anyone that disagrees with your statement that "noone buys COD for the campaign".

Thanks Rogers. But I do think the greater majority, like by a lot, buy CoD for more than the single player element. So it's cool that you do it like how you do though. I'm glad you're speaking out about it.

I was simply responding to this and only this of Ben's.
"Sure, it's the only way to get anyone to play the campaign, right?"
I felt that exact statement was probably too presumptuous so I decided to check out the completion rating and found, surprisingly, that the campaign completion rating was quite high for a game that sells primarily for it's multiplayer. Hence the reason I compared it to TLoU. I expected CoD AW to have a low completion rating myself. Somehow Ben took this as a rebuttal to something he said someplace else. Which is an argument I never wanted or even asked for in the first place.

The movement style described in the article makes me think of Titanfall.

That and from the promotional material BLOPS III also comes off as a Deux Ex-style game, with regards to the direction Treyarch is taking with the technology.

What drives the latter point home is Square Enix acknowledging it too haha

I play the single player in every call of duty, than dabble in the multi-player depending on how good it is. I believe Treyarch is king for call of duty since Black ops. I'm happy to see that they're bringing back CO-OP campaign.

I'm another person who only plays/buy COD for the single player,i will admit i then pass it on to my other half who only play multiplayer, she loves the online game and just don't like the single player game,so a bit unfair to say people don't buy COD games for single player when clearly we do,Ben never admits when he's wrong and i wonder why sometimes as it takes a man to admit when he's wrong.
