Square Enix To Release Updated Version Of FFXV Demo?

Want to see an updated version of the Final Fantasy XV demo?

Square Enix might just make it happen. According to GameSpot citing a recent Square Enix video briefing, players might actually get a chance to play "Episode Duscae version 2.0."

Director Hajime Tabata talked about some changes and improvements that were being made based on feedback from the demo, which released with first-day editions of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. He also said he wanted fans to see these changes:

"If possible, instead of presenting a master that will be like the final release, I really want everyone to see and feel how the game is improving toward the final release as we take in all of their feedback."

Tabata added that it was a good idea from a development perspective to distribute version 2.0 to gamers, to see what they thought. There's no guarantee it'll happen but it's an interesting idea. Ever heard of a "version 2.0" for a demo? Neither have we but hey, Square Enix is all about breaking boundaries these days. 'cough'

So, instead of showing it at E3 and having the improvements and quality possibly diluted by Youtube and goofball "journalism", they actually want to put it in the hands of the fans and gamers who asked for the improvements in the first place. Yeah, they suck for doing that.

If they wanted to put it in the hands of fans they would put it in PSN so every fan can try it.

Nobody said they "suck" for doing it.

God, you're a dope.

There were no mention of suck but this article felt more negative than positive from the sarcasm bits. I bet if it was naughty dog doing this, it would be more positive. Just my honest thoughts.

Anyway, Personally, I genuinely think this is great. It will really allow us to directly experience and see how well they handle the feedbacks. It also make it seem like they're serious and dedicated about this project which I welcome.

It may still be exclusive since the feedback itself is exclusive and this seems to be for those that partake the surveys. In other words, those who played the original demo, even tho not all got the code for the survey. Arrrhmmm.

does this mean I get to actually try the game without buying a PSP remaster?

I would hope so but I'm not counting on it. It was tempting to buy Type-0 just for this demo but after looking more into Type-0 I myself could not justify spending $60 on a PSP remastered game just for a demo.

That PSP remaster was $60? Good grief.
Way to abuse brand loyalty S-E.
And here I thought GoWIII was high at $40.

Yup. And the game doesn't even look that "remastered".

I thought type 0 was pretty good. Main story is shorter than I thought but man is there a lot of side things to do. But yeah, only like 1 percent is properly hd-fied but they're pretty. The other 99% looks just like psp.

I foolishly got Type-O. I would not recommend it for any more than $15. Money poorly spent. I get nauseous from the blurring camera effects. Very hard to look at.

From a development perspective, this could actually work. Free Q.A. feedback (and straight from the players themselves, no less) anyone?
