Assassin's Creed Syndicate Revealed: Trailer And Gameplay

It's time to learn all about this year's entry.

Ubisoft has formally revealed Assassin's Creed Syndicate (previously known as "Assassin's Creed Victory") and it is indeed set in 1868 London.

But more than that, the developers have overhauled the long-standing combat system, and they've reworked the platforming and stealth mechanics as well. Protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye will explore the city's seven boroughs and in their travels, they will encounter plenty of enemies. But while before we spent our time hiding behind haystacks and walls and such, we won't be hiding in Syndicate.

Instead, the game will encourage you to use your environment. You can still crouch (and even crawl) but there will be no button to enter and exit cover; instead, there will be a "softer snap," when you tap a button to fluidly move between navigation and stealth. The whistle feature will return (whistle to attract a guard's attention), and throwing knives are back as well, but much more versatile.

Navigation is also smoother and we'll get new tools like the rope launcher. Perhaps most importantly is the addition of vehicles; players can hijack horse-and-buggies in this new virtual world, ala Grand Theft Auto. If you break the rules of the road, the cops will be after you, too. Yes, this is a very ambitious project and it sounds very promising...you want to see it now, don't you?

Well, here you go. And yes, Assassin's Creed Syndicate is slated to launch later this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Ubisoft later clarified that no more AC games would be made for PS3 and Xbox 360 so you had better upgrade if you haven't already!

Yes... absorb my brainwaves that force you to make the fighting mechanics acceptable so I can play this franchise.

Neat. If this was a sony exclusive we could expect non stop Order 1886 references and easter eggs.

While this is "pre-alpha" I must say that

1. The fighting looks weak
2. The horse carriage running through street poles and other obstacles looks very unrealistic
3. A mixture of first generation automobiles and horse carriages would have been a better idea
4. I still have ACUnity in plastic brand new but for those who have played this series... are you not getting tired?

For me it's the immersive environments that keep me coming back, they're just so well done. It's also a series people love to hate and doesn't deserve a lot of the flak it gets.

Unity sealed thats series fate for me , it was boring as hell .

3 was fun cause it was finally a real new creed game , did nt felt like a dlc like those between 2 and 3 .Black was great cause of that pirate thing , barely any game based on that era .

I keep saying I am done with this series, it's getting boring and repetitive etc.

But after i play the newest version, Ubisoft sucks me back in with immersion and fun combat/gameplay with tons of stuff to do.

Now that AC Syndicate is single player only, it makes me all that more excited that resources are being put into the part of the game I will be playing.

Another Assassins Creed...doesn't take much these days to make them it seems, just improve the graphics each year and put the player in a new location and people will lap it up.

Oh we forgot to iron the bugs out prior to release, nevermind we will wait until people buy our products first and if we get enough negative feedback we will fix them after release but only because we have too.

After the garbage that was Unity i am amazed that people still put up with this devs nonsense of releasing bug-ridden games on release day.
