Sony Approached Bungie For Feedback Regarding Dual Shock 4
When Sony said they approached numerous developers for feedback on the PlayStation 4 and Dual Shock 4, they weren't kidding.
Many game makers have confirmed that announcement, and renowned Halo developer Bungie is the latest. The team is currently working on the multiplayer-oriented FPS, Destiny, which is scheduled to hit both current and next-generation platforms. So, PS3 and PS4.
And according to Bungie COO Pete Parsons, Sony approached his team with feedback for the PS4's new controller:
"Sony’s hardware team was great. They contacted us early in the process to get feedback on the DualShock 4. We make action games, and our feedback was simple. We wanted to make sure that the DS4 really paired up well with Destiny’s gameplay. For us, that meant the controller needed to feel more substantial, and triggers needed to be concave."
There are aspects of both the Dual Shock 3 and the Xbox 360's controller that I like, so combining those traits isn't a bad idea. Provided the size, heft and feel of the gamepad is just about right for my hands, I'm happy.
