Upgraded FFXV Demo Confirmed, Will Release In June

After receiving plenty of feedback from gamers, Square Enix revealed that they're considering a re-release of the Final Fantasy XV demo.

And now it's a reality. According to Siliconera translating a recent Square Enix Tweet, "Episode Duscae 2.0" will arrive in early June.

As you might expect, this upgraded version will feature a variety of improvements. Fans provided the developers with lots of information and criticism, and Square Enix has responded. As FFXV director Hajime Tabata said, "there's been no precedent of applying patches to demos" but this company really needs to prove something to its fans.

No word yet on how they'll deliver this upgraded demo (the first was only available if you purchased Final Fantasy Type-0 HD). Stay tuned on that.

why? who the the hell re-releases a demo? are they seriously that insecure about their product that they need to rerelease a demo instead of i dunno maybe taking that time to rerelease a game that the whole world has been asking about only ever since it came out.

Sweet, tired of playing the first demo. I'm serious, I played Episode DUScae for like 20 hours.

Updating a Demo is an interesting idea.

I am still confused with exactly how much of the game is complete, considering the combat system is literally at the mercy of the fans right now.

I wonder if the world building, story arcs, and assets are all done and they are just trying to work out the combat nuances?

Either way I hope they aren't wasting time updating the demo instead of working on the game.

I'm pretty confident something is going on at SE.
With all the effort on FFXV, it's like they're betting everything on it with a sink or swim plan.

I'll try it again. With a good battle system it could be a great game. It just has a bad one now.

You say that the system is bad, but SE have stated that it was intentionally incomplete in the demo. Hopefully the update demo will include magic options among others. They also mentioned that the enemies in the demo were also a small selection of what is available in that area in the full game.

I still think we got a pretty clear idea of the battle system structure.

I will stay tuned. It's a matter of buying it cheap for myself in the next week or just borrowing my friend's copy with no demo.

There's "no precedent" for this because it's an incredibly stupid idea.

I never finished the demo. That's not a good sign.

Maybe the next one will be better.
