Agent Still In Development, But Is It Now A Next-Gen Title?

Since it was announced at E3 2009, this is all we've had for the anticipated Agent.

The logo.

For almost four years since, we've heard next to nothing about Rockstar's spy-oriented title set during the Cold War. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it's never coming...

As cited by Superannuation and Kotaku, a Rockstar Games employee headquartered in New York mentions Agent alongside Grand Theft Auto V as projects that are "currently in development" at the studio. Perhaps work on Agent has been temporarily abandoned in favor of GTAV, which would make sense as the latter is technically behind schedule.

Back in September of 2009, Rockstar hinted that Agent might see release in 2010, which obviously never happened. Then everything went quiet until two years ago, when Take-Two president Strauss Zelnick said the game was still in development. So here's something to consider- Maybe this elongated delay is due to the fact that Rockstar is now making Agent for the PS4...? There's some rational sense to that theory, don't you think?

Is it still exclusive to Playstation? At this point it probably doesn't matter.

It may be petty of me, but if it isn't PS exclusive I'm not interested.

I was literally thinking about this game earlier today. My prediction is that it's no longer PlayStation exclusive and it'll be a next gen title.

I'd be surprised if this game doesn't end up going multiplat. Most likely will be on PS4 and Xbox Infinity.

As far as i know Rockstar and Sony have a one game exclusive deal when Sony let RS out of a timed exclusive GTA contract.
Seems the same logic that applies to Gran turismo might apply to Agent,The last guardian & FFXIII vs which is there's a lot of time, money & work already gone in to these games and the most money to be made is on the platform with 75 MILLION users or cross gen released on the PS4 after a year or so....a super HD version.

Lesson: Don't announce games that are still just drawings you did on a napkin when you were drunk.

T'was Sony who shot their wad too early not rockstar!
It was around the time of few exclusive releases and slow console sales!

As long as it's Rockstar North, we can safely anticipate a quality title either way, but I really do hope this stays exclusive. At this point I'd just be grateful to play 'Agent' (and 'The Last Guardian'....and 'Final Fantasy Versus XIII') at all, but I'm thinking that these titles would be a huge boost to the PlayStation 4, since there's virtually no chance whatsoever that any of these are released before the PlayStation successor.

certainly possible.
however i cant see agent releasing anytime soon, R* already has allot on their plate with GTAV, and the strong demand for another red dead title.
as much as i really want to see agent, just reminds me of the saboteur, and how good of a game that could of been!
but alas this has gone the way of the last guardian, ffvxiii, and so many other big name sequels which just refuse to come out!
