Batman: Arkham Knight Day One Patch Offers Improvements

Batman: Arkham Knight launches next week and as is typically the case with huge games, it'll get a day-one patch.

If you're wondering what's in it, PlayStation LifeStyle has the answer. It's a 3.5GB update that boasts some performance improvements and fixes.

It also adds a couple new features: Rival Points and an Original Batsuit skin, which will be available to select. Then there's the general assortment of gameplay, graphical, audio, UI and localization fixes. Well, what more do you want? So long as the game plays nicely and is a blast, that's really what gamers want above all else.

Unstable games have become far too prevalent these days. Anyway, you can probably expect a really solid experience from Batman: Arkham Knight, which launches on June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

i dont mind day 1 patches so much, it just shows that the devs didnt just finish the game and forget about it. they kept play testing it and finding the little things that make the game just a little better

Considering strong praise has already been heaped on the review code for how polished it feels makes this news sorta surprising.

Anyway the game is currently scoring excellent with a 91 on metacritic.
I think VanOrd is the only dork right now out in left field (not surprising)

cannot wait for the game.

i dont mind day 1 patches, or just any patch in general if it improves the experience.

i guess we are now living in the age of where developers like to constantly improve their games with these patches. its actually good, because as consumers we can feel like our voices are being heard when we encounter any issues with games.

keep on patchin'

And this is why I don't like MS backwards design, current gen gonna be all about big patches, this game is supposed to be polished and still get a big day one patch, if Sony does the same I'm gonna save the money of a couple of externals HD and keep my PS3.

Can they please patch the ability to increase text size? Cannot read the text from 8 ft away on a 50" screen. That's with my glasses on. Small text sucks!
