Konami: MGSV's Microtransactions Don't Affect The Balance
Whenever a developer confirms microtransactions for a game, the suspicion level rises among consumers.
So, when Konami announced microtransactions for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, gamers were understandably miffed.
However, in a new 40-minute gameplay presentation featuring plenty of developer commentary, the publisher clarified their position:
"While it is true that a few microtransactions option due exists, the entire game has been carefully balanced to be fair and enjoyable with or without using these options. There's no pay to win option. Rest assured that every single item, weapon, and mission in the game is available to all players without paying a single cent."
Konami added that microtransactions were added as a "completely optional feature" for players who might not have time to explore every nook and cranny of the game's massive areas. "Nothing more, nothing less," they said. Does that put you at ease? Or are you still a little worried?
