Oops, Driveclub PS Plus Edition Goes Live A Little Too Early

We've been waiting for a long time but thankfully, the PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub is ready.

Well, almost.

The PlayStation Store update on Tuesday included the long-awaited free version of the game, but the launch was premature. Developer Evolution Studios quickly said on Twitter:

Store update today with the DRIVECLUB PS+ Edition was premature. The servers aren't ready yet, so it's been removed while we get them ready.

— DRIVECLUB (@DRIVECLUB) June 23, 2015

The Plus edition offers a blend of single-player and multiplayer content, plus every major feature including online multiplayer matches and offline solo racing. We also get Tour Events, Photo Mode, customization and replays. It will include all 13 of India's tracks, 15 cars and 27 Trophies (as well as the Platinum). That's not bad for a free version!

You do need a Plus subscription, of course. And upgrading to the full version will get you over 40 more cars and 5 other locations. But at least you get to test it out! Here's hoping it'll be ready very soon.

How long did you play it? I hated it the first 3 days I had it, but once I got use to the arcady feel, this became my go to racer for months and still is til this day. I wanna get project cars, but I feel just right at home with Drive Club.

Liked it a lot. Got it last Christmas when it was on the PSN Sale. Reasonable price.

Weather is amazing. Nothing better than driving around Scotland or Norway in the dark with a blizzard or the rain in your face. Graphics are eye popping.

What? That's the 2nd time they did it, for almost the same reasons!
Will we have to wait another few months until they put it back on PSN?
I realy want to try out this game, altough it's a bit late now when PC is out and GT7 next year (probably)

A little late with this release...Even EB Games had this game for like $20.

Don't sleep on this if you haven't tried it yet. Very solid racing game, especially with competitive friends.

This game is completely off my radar at this point. I'll probably pick it up and test it out, but I definitely will NOT be buying the full game after the devs dropped the ball again and again out of the gate.

90% of Driveclub players: great game, love it.

Everyone else: it's the worst racing game ever and the studio should shut down from their stupidity.

Strange sphere we inhabit.

As for me: it looks amazing but I'm not playing any racers for now due to competitive SF4 practice and I only want to play once I get my wheel ++ backlog for the normal games.

Ha...a little too early. Oh how I laughed!!

Overall this game is alright. Graphics wise it's pretty but there are times that the weather becomes more annoying than enjoyable.

Project cars is a different beast. Definitely much tougher but also more rewarding to me at least than driveclub.
