Call Of Duty: Ghosts Reveal Trailer And Behind The Scenes Vid

As part of Microsoft's Xbox One reveal, we got a big ol' eyeful of Infinity Ward's new Call of Duty title set for 2013.

...as if anyone was really surprised. Kinda saw it coming.

As a result, we've got a brand new official Reveal Trailer and even a great Behind-the-Scenes video that outlines all the work that goes into a blockbuster production. Love it or hate it, you have to appreciate the fact that Activision and IW continually recruit some of the best talent in the industry for this franchise. And with a brand new story, setting and engine (thank God), Call of Duty: Ghosts could end up being the best CoD yet.

Ghosts is set to release on November 5 for current generation consoles and it'll be available at the Xbox One's launch as well. Chances are, it'll be on the PlayStation 4 right around the same time.

Battlefield 3 ps3 graphics! They still need a better engine to compete against the frostbite engine.

I was hoping SAS trooper Simon 'Ghost' Riley was making a return - but no.

Nov 5 would be the ideal PS4 release date - boy would that piss Microsoft off

Could you imagine? COD map packs come out on xbox first but what if the game came out on ps4 first!

It looked interesting, but I might start playing Battlefield. Too bad I have to buy it regardless in order to play HS&D :)

man, the lighting engine already looks dated. Really, it looks like a current gen lighting model they have with this one.

This is what happens when you don't push yourselves as developers and release the same game year after year.

I think the dogs could be something, so that's something different from other fps games. The story may very well be compelling in that they have a professional screen writer involved.

Aaaaand, that's as far as I can go in trying to look at the positives. Other than that, this game looks nothing like what I envision for next gen. That's just unacceptable from a company that's as successful as they are.

I've never had a problem with the stories in Infinity Ward games. It's too bad that 40% of CoD players skip the SP campaign.

you saw the release date, but you dident see the new engine, new story line, new characters, and totally new focus on story and emotions now did ya?
well there you go, even the games developers explained why they hired the highly acclaimed writing talent.
sometimes i get sick of always being right.......

happy to see the changes, nice to see another developer trying to dispel the myth that shooters cant have a compelling story!
so thats a good start, whether it will be the drastic change in gameplay as well is another story.
looks good so far so im hopeful.

The new engine does look different than the old engine, but honestly the leap in graphic quality isn't that big.

Like temjin said above the lighting engine looks pretty out dated, something that I noticed as well were the textures looking a little funny.

It really still looks the same though, from far away they have the same colours and look as the old CoD. I guess its better than nothing...but I kind of feel like they made this engine not to compete with Frostbite or cryengine, but to just be able to say they have a new engine. Because it honestly looks like they spent very little money and effort on making this new engine.

That aside I wonder if they will have dedicated servers and fix all of the problems with the multiplayers hit boxes, lag compensation and other issues that have been in the game since 2007. If they can't fix those issues then who cares about a new engine.
