Okay, PlayStation 4 Owners, What's Your Satisfaction Level?

So, you're a PlayStation 4 owner. Maybe you were one of the first in line to grab one on launch day. You were just so excited.

As of now, what would you say your satisfaction level is? Is it higher or lower than where you thought it might be this far into the generation?

It's interesting how our passion for and excitement in any given platform can change significantly over the years. I remember being over-the-top pumped up for the PS2 and I was blown away by the incredible launch lineup, and 2001 was just a staggeringly amazing year. After that...well, I wouldn't say my satisfaction level was low (PS2 remains one of my favorite consoles ever), but its superiority almost became hum-drum. It was like, "yeah, PS2 rules, so what else is new?"

Is that where you're at with PS4? Maybe not; maybe you're waiting to see more examples of the system's hardware prowess. Perhaps your satisfaction and excitement level has a ways to go. Or, you're perfectly happy with the way things are going along, and you're tired of people asking, "where are all the PS4 exclusives." It's the latter, right? ;)

Yeah. Though I did buy Xcom enemy within during a sale and I've been on that here and there the past week or so. So sad about the sequel.

Satisfaction level is super high. I've got amazing games (nostalgia ones and backlog) waiting for me on PS3 but I always itch to play on PS4 even if there's less.

Must be the controller and whole User Experience.

I have a launch ps4, and I just recently upgraded the hard drive to 2TB. It would have been nice if Sony had just released a more expensive SKU with a maxed drive with how big installs are getting.

Satisfaction is getting better now that there are a handful of good games. Most of them are multi-platform, but they're close enough in hardware that it's kind of nice more people get to play them.
The title I'm keeping an eye on next is Mad Max. I hope it turns out to be good.

As a media device, I give it a Meh. It is a HUGE step back from the PS3. Sony hasn't even released a media remote for it. The companion app can't do anything compared to what Apple's remote app can with the Apple TV and iTunes.

As a gaming machine, I gotta say I am impressed with how Sony was able to take 1st place almost overnight. Although, they're kind of lagging in the exclusives department.

Dissapointing. Really haven't had much time to play , but there has been no games so far that made me want to play over something else I'd be doing outside of gaming. I guess that's not really Playstation's problem but the industry itself has failed to produce anything that has yet to draw me in like the good old days.

Over the holiday weekend I've put in a ton of hours into Batman but that game feels like a chore at times. Right now I'm doing all the Riddler crap I just want to give up but my compulsion won't let me.

My satisfaction level IS OVER 9000!!!

Really love this year rpg release, bloodborne and witcher 3 really satisfied my gaming need. Also looking foward to another ps4 exclusive until dawn, that game probably gonna be a great niche horror game...

1 thing though, whats Sony's decision when it comes to mods?,fallout 4 and the new just cause and i guess many more in the future will give the possibility of mods, but will Sony agree?T.Howard[Bethesda/fallout 4]said they wanted it also on the ps4,IF Sony would agree,it's still silent in Sony's corner.....

Mods on the PS4... that would be sick!

None of the articles said if Sony agreed. Considering sony's stance about unreal tournament, which had mods by the way, I don't see why they wouldn't agree. Microsoft is just partnering with them on making sure the mods work out of the gate for the Xbox one, due to windows 10 cross compatibility.

I love it, and with the inclusion of the media player I hardly touch the PS3.

I'll have to agree with cLoudou. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but this generation I find myself less and less impressed over anything dealing with video games.

Everything has become open-world and real life doesn't afford me much spare time to play and enjoy games these days. And when I do get the time, I forget parts of the story, since I sometimes go days or weeks without touching my ps4.

That and the lack of truly innovative software, and severe absence of timeless splitscreen games turn me off from gaming. I miss games like ps2 era 007 games, rainbow six vegas, tony hawks, nfl blitz, or really any old ps2 series...

When i first bought the machine at launch i was deeply disappointed much like i was with the PS3 launch which imo was extremely lacking in any quality games, but i suppose that's understandable with any console launch being abit thin on the software front.

Fast forward from launch to now i am alot more satisfied with the purchase thanks to games like Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Deception Nightmare Princess and more. The future for the system atleast as far as games go looks to have been a solid investment in the long run much like the PS3 was.

I like my PS4. But I'm going through an indecisive phase where I don't know what to play. I recently upgraded my HDD to 2TB and have too much to choose from actually installed. But the real games I want to play, the ones I'm very decisive about wanting to play, aren't out yet. Actually I feel I might have to bring the PS3 out of retirement to satisfy my Deus Ex hankering until the new game arrives. Other games I really want to play aren't out yet either. Not that what we have isn't good enough but nothing new has gotten me in the way some of last gens game have.

Me too man, I'm just cycling through games all over the place. Ps3, PS4, Dreamcast HD, I want something to hook me.

Probably the highest it's ever been.
The lineup of quality games that have grabbed me this year is simply unmatched. Can you believe it'll close out with Fallout 4? It also helps that the excitement of what next year brings is also very high with stuff like Uncharted, Mass Effect, Ratchet, Gran Turismo, SFV, Titanfall, and presumably Horizon. This list has many more not mentioned too.

I can say I'm satisfied due to more games coming. Though not playing nearly as much as I used to due to priorities.

If I was to put a number on how satisfied I am with the PS4, I would give my experience a 9/10.

It's not perfect because there are a few games on the PS3 that forces me to hang on to the older console because the PS4 doesn't offer them yet.

My life is busier than ever, but that's not the PS4's fault so I refuse to allow it to "lessen" the experience.

I'm pretty satisfied so far. I don't get all that much time to play compared to the good ol' days, so I don't go through games at the same clip. I guess that works out in my favour, though... since I think otherwise I'd be disappointed at the number of exclusives that appeal to me to date.

As is, I'm having fun, and I totally see the value in cross game chat now.

Lower cuz I thought there would be next gen games by now and more of a AAA onslaught. That said, what's available is still 10,000 miles ahead of what Xbox has.

I'm really enjoying mine, the overall user experience is great, and I've got plenty enough games to keep me happy. The library will deepen, of course, but I agree that it's a bit thin in key areas at this stage (specifically, I want more strat titles - but with Tropico, Risk and the like it's still not too shabby).

I am completely happy with my PS4 purchase. One thing the PS4 has done for me, that was totally unexpected, has turned out to be the most entertainment I could ever ask for, is give me a glimpse of life in other countries. People are just like we are.

The Ukrainians I watched live streaming one night were the most hilarious bunch of people I've seen in my life. They sang upon request and danced some funny dance in a circle. You just can't ask for a better experience than seeing other people around the world loving life and having a good time.
