Spoilers Or Leaks In No Man's Sky Vids? Nah, That's Impossible
Yeah, it's just so easy to see spoilers these days.
In an age where one can find dozens and dozens of gameplay videos and trailers online, some gamers have taken to avoiding a lot of this content.
However, if the game is just so ridiculously big, perhaps it doesn't matter if you watch those trailers. Take Hello Games' super ambitious No Man's Sky, for instance; it's a procedurally generated universe that's essentially impossible to explore fully. In speaking to The Guardian, studio boss Sean Murray said they actually made the game with "the age of the spoiler" in mind:
"In this era in which footage of every game is recorded and uploaded to YouTube, we wanted a game where, even if you watched every video, it still wouldn’t be spoiled for you,” he said.
And we wanted those discoveries to be meaningful in the sense that they could be shared with other players, all of whom existed in the exact same universe, rather than inside their own random dimension."
Murray added that he's the one playing in every single video you see ("it's the most genuine way in which we can show the game"), and it's even more proof that no two players will have the same experience. He's not at all worried that you're going to see something in those trailers that will spoil anything because chances are, you won't see it.
No Man's Sky doesn't have a release date just yet but it really needs one. It's coming to PlayStation 4 and PC.
