The Chances Square Enix Will Delay Final Fantasy XV Until 2016?
Square Enix is going big at Gamescom next month.
They're presenting Just Cause 3, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, Dragon Quest: Heroes, and yeah, Final Fantasy XV. That's hardly the full presentation list, either (check GameSpot).
They also claim we'll see "a number of exciting stage presentations" for FFXV, along with "many well-known guests." Some lucky fans will even get their hands on the revamped demo, Episode Duscae 2.0 (remember, they released the upgraded play sample) last month. Well, that's all very well and good, but I still get the feeling they're going to delay it. It almost seems inevitable.
They just don't seem far enough along. It was only a few months ago that they were wishy-washy on certain details (like whether or not to include an airship), and these just aren't the kinds of things you can leave to the last minute. It doesn't help that we've never actually had an official release date; it's still sitting in that wide Fall 2015 window.
They do have to launch it, though. And they better make good on their promises.
