Konami Offers Some MGSV Multiplayer Customization Info

Want to know more about the online component included with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain?

Konami has obliged gamers on the official MGO Twitter page, answering more than a few fan questions.

They went into some detail concerning player customization during matches, for example. We'll be able to alter the color and patterns of our gear but unfortunately, you can't make designs yourself, and this gear won't affect your statistics. Here's a brief rundown of the other tidbits Konami revealed:

  • There aren't "presets" for gear--there are categories for different body parts, such as specific gear for legs, arms, etc.
  • There is no Metal Gear Solid 4 gear in the game.
  • Some items are class specific.
  • You cannot unlock gear via MGS V's single-player mode.

MGSV is set to launch on September 1 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; it will be available for PC players on September 15. If you were wondering, Konami is calling the online mode "Metal Gear Online 3."

So the body parts are customisable just like MGO2... Fine by me :P

I'm just glad to hear something! After a no show for MGO3 at e3 and hearing Kojima Productions has been disbanded, I was getting a little worried. I just hope Konami keep the servers up for longer than MGO2.
