MGS5 Is A Smaller Install On PS4 Than MGS4 Was On PS3
Here's a little factoid that's causing a bit of snickering.
I think we all remember hearing about the required install for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on PlayStation 3. We were like, "26.6GB?! Are you sh****** me?"
Okay, well, according to the Japanese listing for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the new entry will only take up 25.1GB on PS4, which is less than MGS4 needed on PS3. C'mon, that's just amusing.
That's not even a lot by this generation's standards, as some launch titles like Killzone: Shadow Fall required close on to 50GB. Other notable titles are The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (50GB) and Batman: Arkham Knight (45GB), both of which are open-world games. MGSV sorta qualifies as an open-world adventure but it's not a sandbox, as Konami has made plain in the past.
By the way, The Phantom Pain only needs 11.7GB on PS3. Heh.
