You Can Continue To Explore In Fallout 4 After Finishing Story

When it comes to massive open-world games, playing after the credits roll is typically a standard option.

You would assume you could continue to explore and level up after finishing Fallout 4, for example.

But here's a little history and SPOILER WARNING FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS OR FALLOUT 3: See, in New Vegas, you could die at the end of the story, which means you weren't doing any exploring if this happened. Not until the release of the Broken Steel DLC could players advance past the main story and level cap of 20. So, this is why fans of the series had a legitimate question concerning Fallout 4. But as Bethesda confirmed on Twitter:

"To our fans who've asked: Fallout 4 doesn't end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling."

Well, that's certainly good to know. You might need a lot of extra time to get all the building customization done that you want to do.

Messed up a bit there Ben, it was in FO3 that you could die at the end, and New Vegas didn't get any dlc that let you go past the end, that was for 3 too.

Glad to see there's no level cap. I had a ton more game left when I hit the cap in F3. Which led to some unfortunate sequence of events from waiting on poorly executed expansions to never being able to finish them. But I did finish the main story!

Thats cool. I think i'd like a feature that lets you change your character model though. Like how in RDR...SPOILERS

im sorry if someone was spoiled. I thought it wouldnt show up if i hit enter enough times.

When John dies, you play as his son. I think it'd be cool in a roleplaying essence to be able to like, pass the torch onto a different character in the same world you've spent hours upon hours in. Instead of starting from scratch. Granted, I love replaying things but sometimes I wish'd that be an option. Not for roleplayings sake, but because sometimes your first character looks good when you first make him/her using the games creation but then 30 hours later, that damn nose bugs the hell out of you. Its literally one of the reasons i stopped playing inquisition. Anyways this games going to be epiiiic, and buggy.

I remember playing Fable. You could keep playing after the story was done. But it was just so empty without a story.

I remember in Fallout 3, I had to avoid not completing the game for a couple months because of how the game ended.

I am very happy to see that I can keep playing after I finish the main quest line.

I love every single thing I read about this game so far. No exceptions.
