Kojima Turns 52, Swears He'll "Keep Creating" Forever

Many see him as one of the most important people in video game history.

At the very least, he's a pioneer, visionary, and overall damn talented designer, who has given us one of the industry's most beloved and lauded IPs: Metal Gear Solid.

People like this never stop creating, so we shouldn't be surprised to hear him say he'll just keep on going. On his English Twitter page, the MGS guru said:

Thanks everyone, I turned 52 and will keep creating in rest of my life.

It probably helps a lot that his latest masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is wowing the critics. Of course, he hasn't yet answered the big question: After his split with Konami, what will happen with the legendary series?

Creating forever? No one will be complaining. He can stop whenever he wants and he will be in the top 10 or 5 best producers in gaming history.

I think he's said this before on one of his past birthdays, that he wasn't planning on retiring from making video games. Nice to hear him say it again anyways, with what's happened lately. I doubt he can tell what the future of MGS will be, that's in Konami's hands (most likely it's screwed).

The better question to ask him is, what will he do now? Will he join the group of old Japanese geniuses gone indie? Or will he try getting a job at another big company? The man's a human shaped gold mine, any company that still respects this industry would probably be thrilled to have him.

Looking good for 52, hopefully he starts up his own studio and begins work on Silent Hills or something similar under a different guise with Norman Reedus and Del Toro anchored in too.

sheesh he looks good for 52 and well i sure he'll find a way to make what ever he wants with whom ever he wants cos he's that good.

and honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he started up his own studio(@kevin555).

and yeah i think its safe to say that with MGS in konami's hands is pritty much stuffed(@Draguss) which is sad but thats reality they aren't who they used to be as a company.

happy gaming
