Siralim: A Retro RPG With Stats And Monsters Galore

Well now, this brings back memories.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, Thylacine Studios will release Siralim, a deep retro RPG, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Vita (and yes, it's a Cross Buy title).

In this old-school adventure, you can capture, summon, and even breed hundreds of creatures that will fight by your side in randomly generated dungeons and quests. You can upgrade your castle by inviting people to work for you, craft powerful artifacts, and generally run your very own kingdom. While it's definitely a throwback game, the freedom and customization is absolutely new-age.

There are 8 different Realms to unlock, from the fiery Chaos Realm to the peaceful Life Realm and in each, you'll have quests and a Duty to complete. As you might expect, the battles are turn-based and will probably remind you of the first Dragon Quest or Phantasy Star games. It may look like an 8-bit production but it's so chock full of stats and options that it should feel like something else altogether.

Cool could be good though I've yet to see a successful random dungeon generator.
