New Tony Hawk 5 Trailer Shows Off The Beefed-Up Graphics
When Activision first revealed Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, they got a mixed response.
Everyone seemed to love the return to the old-school style of gameplay, but many noted the disappointing graphics.
It seems developer Robomodo took those reactions to heart because in a new trailer that highlights the "all-star lineup of skaters," we see the revamped visuals. As you watch the likes of Chris Cole, Lizzie Armanto and David Gonzalez, you'll notice the game's fresh cel-shaded style. The team worked on this earlier this month and as Robomodo CEO Josh Tsui told GameSpot, they needed to maintain the high-end performance:
"It was essential that the game run at 60fps at 1080p. Even with 20 people skating online in the same session. We've achieved that, so now fans are seeing a better-looking game.
It's more over-the-top--the lighting has been improved and we've pumped up the game's colors. Also, details like motion blur, depth of field, and outlining were tweaked, in the interest of improving the player's focus on the skater and nearby obstacles and terrain."
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 is set to release For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 29, while the PS3 and 360 versions will follow on November 10. For more, check out our recent preview.
