Uncharted 4 Dated, Special Editions And Pre-Order Bonuses

It's the launch date so many PlayStation 4 owners have waited for, ever since hearing of the unfortunate delay.

Sony released a ton of news for the hugely anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and this includes the new date: March 18, 2016.

Additionally, they unveiled two limited edition versions of the game: The Special Edition will retail for $80 and the Libertalia Collector's Edition will go for $120. Here are the contents of each:

Special Edition

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Blu-ray Disc
  • Collectible Steelbook case designed by Alexander "That Kid Who Draws" Iaccarino
  • 48-page hardcover art book by Dark Horse and Naughty Dog
  • Naughty Dog & Pirate Sigil sticker sheet
  • Naughty Dog Points: A pack of in-game currency to unlock various multiplayer content

Libertalia Collector's Edition

  • Everything included in the Special Edition
  • A 12-inch premium Nathan Drake statue by Gentle Giant
  • Three multiplayer outfits: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heist Drake, and Desert Drake outfits
  • Two custom weapon skins: Golden Weapon Skin and Desert Weapon Skin
  • Henry Avery Sigil ball cap
  • Madagascar Sidekick outfits

If you'd rather purchase the game in a digital format, you can get your hands on another special edition. This one includes the Uncharted 4 Triple Pack (future access to the first-ever, single-player story DLC and two multiplayer packs), and an instant unlock of two multiplayer customization items. Now, if you don't get this version, Sony reminds you the Triple Pack will be available to everyone as DLC.

Lastly, Sony showed off the pre-order incentives:

GameStop: Receive the Multiplayer Booster Pack to instantly unlock a variety of one-time use multiplayer boosts, and The Phurba Dagger Taunt based on the iconic symbol from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Amazon: Receive the Snow Camo weapon customization and the Desert Drake outfit multiplayer customization.

PlayStation Store: Receive the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Dynamic Theme and the Desert Weapon customization.

Okay, now we can be officially excited for the first quarter of 2015!

I'm so frustrated this will have single player dlc. If this is Nates last adventure, let it finish with the player completing the original story. Don't add more content just to do it.

I get the argument that more content is nice and all, but we are talking about a linear story driven adventure. Essentially what ND is saying is they have more they want to tell us but we have to wait. And I don't like that... Not when it involves my favorite game franchise.

On a positive note, I can't wait to play this game!

Maybe they are unrelated branches off the linear story somehow? I dunno, it's hard to explain that crap away these days.

They can tell the story of Nathan's brother. There is nothing wrong with single player DLC. The last of us had great single player DLC. No one complained about that. I have faith in what Naught Dog will come up with.

Minor typo at the end. It should say 2016.

In any case, I will be getting the game but not immediately since I have such a huge backlog and I don't play as often as others.

Really dislike collector's editions with statues just always seems like an easy way for the company to bump up the price without thinking of something creative. So pass on that one.

Without a digitally anatomically correct Chloe statue or realdoll I'll pass and just get the game :)

They got the God of War time slot huh? Not bad.
