Battlefield 4 Boasts 64-Player Multiplayer
For shooter fanatics, this is truly excellent news.
At E3 2013 today, developer DICE confirmed that the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of their upcoming Battlefield 4 will boast 64-player multiplayer matches.
They showed off the multiplayer level Siege of Shanghai during the presentation, which was a boisterous display of helicopters, jet skis and a huge skyscraper that didn't last very long. Commander Mode was shown running on a tablet, as the Commander player called down an artillery strike, which was kinda cool. If you're wondering, the PS3 and 360 versions of Battlefield 3 had a multiplayer cap of 32, so this is double the fun. It isn't the first time we've seen this, though; Resistance 2 offered crazy 64-player entertainment, too.
It was also confirmed that the Xbox One iteration of BF4 will run at 60 frames per second (we can only hope the PS4 version will do the same). However, Microsoft has secured early downloadable content exclusivity for the game, which probably shouldn't surprise anyone.
